Safari EXPERIENCE (Tsavo East)

TSAVO EAST - Day 1

Departure around 06:15 from your accommodation. The red earth road to get to Tsavo East park crosses the largest forest in Kenya, you can admire various types of landscapes and the typical African villages where the local population lives. The first stop will be at Crocodile Point, where we will try to spot crocodiles in the Galana River. You arrive at the park entrance around 10:00 and start immediately with the Game Drive (our photography safari) until lunchtime in search of animals living in the African savannah. Depending on how our safari goes, we will arrive at the accommodation around 1pm /1.30pm to check‐in and settle into the rooms. Buffet lunch and relaxation in your room or pool. Around 4pm departure for the second game drive until sunset and return to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.

5.30am breakfast, 6.00am departure for the last game drive in Tsavo Est until 8am, after which we move towards Amboseli to arrive at our accommodation for lunch. We set off again for the afternoon game drive around 4pm and, with a bit of luck, we will be able to see the scenery of Mount Kilimanjaro which will be the backdrop to our safari and then return to the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

6am breakfast and departure. Possibility to visit the Maasai village nearby, where you will witness typical dances and you will be able to visit their homes, called Manyatta, as well as buy souvenirs to support their community. At the end we head towards the park exit to reach the city of Voi, where we will stop for lunch and a short rest. Around 3.30pm we set off again to return to Watamu.

Breakfast at 6 am and departure for the last game drive which will then take us on the way back. Halfway there will be a stop for lunch, the return to Watamu is expected in the late afternoon

Safari tips:

Protective sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, lip balm. Insect repellent (possibly tropical version, should be applied approximately every 6-8 hours).
Clothing should be comfortable, bring long changes for the evening and early morning, t-shirts and shorts for the day, but remember to bring several changes because the red earth of the savannah can be annoying. It is also reminiscent of a swimsuit because in the accommodation there is often a swimming pool and comfortable shoes (possibly old and not white so as not to risk staining them). Also important are essential medicines, including painkillers for common headaches, drugs for dysentery, paracetamol and eye drops for possible soil in the eyes. Adapter for ENGLISH type power socket and power bank. Camera and, if you want to make sure you see animals even from a distance, binoculars. REMEMBER: the drone in Kenya is banned.
